"Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story that is told across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see."
- C. S. Lewis
I'm Emily Fisk, writer, mom, coffee-drinker, and life-lover from scenic Idaho.
My work is scattered around the web, including at Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, Her View From Home, Hello, Dearest, and Humane Pursuits. Connect with me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Let's be friends!
I believe that I am part of a bigger story. My life is a plot in the story, but not the plot—a supporting character, not the main. My story has been written before time began (Jeremiah 1:5), and I'm leaning on the Writer of my character. My paying job involves writing and marketing, but I prefer my other job titles like Chief Activity Director for my toddler, Starving Artist/Writer, Household Director, and Gardener.
I blog because I love connection, and I genuinely want to connect with you. I think we're all made of stories, and something incredible happens when we share our stories with each other.
I'm equal parts contemplation, snark, and nostalgia—so that's probably what you'll find here. I'm a type-A 20-something, so expect some pitiful attempts at adulting. I'm a mom, so expect some sappy (or crazy) mommy blogging (and maybe some tips gleaned from my bumbling learning-by-doing). I'm a wife and friend, so expect some thoughts on community (it's a big deal to me). I'm a Christian, so expect some (evolving) thoughts on faith.
